13 Chemikalienstrategie für Nachhaltigkeit Teil des Green Deals ist die Chemikalienstrategie mit mehr als 50 Maßnahmen. Sie soll Mensch und Umwelt vor gefährlichen Che­ mikalien schützen und auf das Null-Schadstoff-Ziel einzahlen. Die Umsetzung der Chemikalienstrategie wird weitreichende Folgen für die chemische Industrie und die Anwender von chemischen Produkten haben. Sie sieht die Änderung der REACH-Verordnung, der CLP-Verordnung und zahlreicher anderer Vorschriften – auch bei Lebensmittelkontaktmaterialien – vor. Das beinhaltet um­ fassende neue Datenanforderungen, Verwendungsbeschrän­ kungen und die Regulierung von Stoffgruppen mit bestimmten Eigenschaften. Auch die Aufnahme neuer Gefahrenklassen in die CLP-Verordnung ist angedacht. In Summe ist eine verstärkt gefahrenbasierte Ausrichtung des gesamten Chemikalienrechts vorgesehen. Deutscher Nachhaltigkeitskodex Der Deutsche Nachhaltigkeitskodex (DNK) ist ein international anwendungsfähiger Berichtsstandard für Nachhaltigkeitsaspekte. Das Interessante: Der DNK als niederschwelliges Angebot bietet unerfahrenen Unternehmen Unterstützung beim Aufbau einer Nachhaltigkeitsstrategie und beim Einstieg in die Nachhaltigkeits­ berichterstattung. Der Kodex richtet sich an alle Organisationen und Unternehmen, die ihre Stakeholder über ihre Nachhaltig­ keitsleistungen informieren wollen: Kleine und große, öffentliche und private Unternehmen mit und ohne Nachhaltigkeitsbericht­ erstattung. 2011 vom Rat für Nachhaltige Entwicklung in einem Stakeholder-Prozess entwickelt, beinhaltet der DNK heute die gesetzlichen Anforderungen des CSR-Richt­ linie-Umsetzungsgesetzes. Chemical strategy for sustainability As part of the Green Deal, the chemical strategy encompasses more than 50 measures. It is intended to protect humans and the environment against hazardous chemicals and contribute to the zero pollutant goal. The implementation of this chemical strategy will have wide-ranging consequences for the chemical industry and users of chemical products. It proposes changes to the REACH regulation, the CLP regulation and numerous other regulations – including those applicable to food contact materi- als. This includes comprehensive new data requirements, usage limitations and the regulation of material groups with specific properties. The inclusion of new risk classes in the CLP regula- tion is also taken into consideration. In total, this will include a stronger risk-based orientation of the entire chemicals legisla- tion sector. German Sustainability Code The German Sustainability Code (DNK) is an internationally applicable reporting standard for sustainability criteria. An interesting point: The DNK offers low-threshold programs to support inexperienced companies in the development of a sustainability strategy and in starting up sustainability reporting. This code is aimed at all organisations and com- panies that want to inform their stakeholders about their sustainability services: Irrespective of whether they are small, large, public or private companies with or without sustainability reporting. Developed during a stakeholder process in 2011 by the Council for Sustainable Develop- ment, the DNK now also includes the legal re- quirements of the German CSR Directive Imple- mentation Act. EuPIA-Ausschlusspolitik Druckfarbenhersteller, die sich zur Einhaltung der EuPIA-Aus­ schlusspolitik verpflichten, leisten einen entscheidenden Bei­ trag zu sicheren Druckerzeugnissen für Mensch und Umwelt. Seit 1996 verzichtet die europäische Druckfarbenindustrie in allen Druckfarben-Formulierungen freiwillig auf den Einsatz von Rohstoffen, die schwerwiegende schädliche Auswirkun­ gen auf die menschliche Gesundheit haben. Diese Politik gilt für die Herstellung und Lieferung von Druckfarben und zuge­ hörigen Produkten in Europa. Der europäische Druckfarben­ verband EuPIA koordiniert die Brancheninitiative, die Einhal­ tung der Ausschlusspolitik ist jedoch eine Selbstverpflichtung der einzelnen Unternehmen. EuPIA exclusion policy Printing ink manufacturers who commit to compliance with the EuPIA exclusion policy make a significant con- tribution to safe printing products for humans and the environment. The European printing ink industry has vol- untarily waived the use of raw materials that have serious harmful effects on human health in all printing ink formu- lations since 1996. This policy applies to the production and delivery of printing inks and related products within Europe. The European printing ink association EuPIA co- ordinates this sector initiative; however, com- pliance with this exclusion policy is left to in- dividual companies.
