Two traditional companies, one innovative ink se- ries: To mark the start of their collaboration, Epple Druckfarben AG and Zeller+Gmelin have launched the UV sheetfed offset ink series “LightStar” on the international printing market. The strong product, market and development expertise of the Epple company group and Zeller+Gmelin has helped them maintain a successful presence in the chal- lenging printing ink market for decades. These industry leaders combine a profound appreciation of quality and expertise that is ideally matched. The impressive results of this partnership are the first jointly developed UV sheetfed offset inks LightStar UV LE/LED, LightStar UV Paper, and a UV opaque white. The range will soon also include a UV coloured version for foil printing. Specifically, Epple Druckfarben AG brings its many years of experience in production and the development of its own sheetfed offset printing inks to the development partnership. Zeller+Gmelin is an expert in UV technolo- gy for the UV printing inks and coatings sector. Together, the ink specialists have developed innovative UV ink se- ries for different applications and pursue a clear strategy: While the UV ink series for the sheetfed offset application is marketed by the Epple group of companies under the LightStar brand, Zeller+Gmelin is responsible for produc- ing the ink series.
