“Safe packaging”: Epple at the Breslau packaging conference

A “safe packaging”: in today’s world, this also means meeting ecological standards. Sustainability was the focus of the event in Breslau in mid-November 2019, a key issue of which was plastic packaging, which is under public pressure. Epple Druckfarben introduced the new migration harmless sheet offset ink system PURe® and BoFood® Organic – real sustainable alternatives in packaging printing.

The Polish print market is one of the most dynamic in Europe; and the demand was correspondingly high: More than 200 people from Printing houses and agencies, branded companies and ink manufacturers took part in the “Bezpieczne Opakowanie 9” conference. The core topics of the event with expert presentations were, among others, the functionality of barriers vs. packaging safety, safety features in digital printing as well as new regulations regarding single-use plastics. In addition, the topics of low-migration printing inks and packaging recycling were discussed: Jarosław Woźny, Epple Druckfarben AG, discussed these topics during his expert presentation. The application engineer is responsible for the Polish market and demonstrated the possibilities of the hazardous label-free and odourless PURe® colour system. It does without mineral oils as well as potentially toxic ingredients and has excellent drying and processing properties. In addition, Jarosław Woźny provided information about BoFood® Organic. The ink system enables printing the insides of folding foodstuff cartons, whereby direct food contact is also possible. All raw materials used in BoFood® Organic are approved for use in foodstuffs themselves.

The company Reprograf Grafikus, sponsor of the event “Safe packaging”, has been Epple’s exclusive sales partner in Poland for almost three years. Since then, Epple Druckfarben has made a name for itself in the Polish market. This is because Reprograf Grafikus provides the required high quality of consulting, especially for sustainable printing systems. The supplier of everything from printing materials to printing presses is also known for its fast on-site service and fast delivery of goods – including Epple ink. One reason for this is the company’s own ink mixing station in Warsaw.
