Epple: New brand presence at drupa 2016 - characterized by migration harmless ink systems
„Our experts are permanently developing products that completely accomplish various customer requirements regarding the quality of inks, runnability, further processing, and moreover our responsibility for man and nature”, explains Dr. Carl Epple, member of the board of Epple Druckfarben AG. Besides the expertise in printing inks, Epple strengthens its position as system provider by integrating and further developing its varnish business. The market leader for sheetfed offset inks in Germany will systematically advance the matching of product combinations of ink, varnish and other additives. In the service segment, Epple advises print customers, adjusts the processes to their order portfolio and involves – if required – technical service to run tests in practice. This is particularly important with new products, such as BoFood Organic.
BoFood Organic: ready for inside printing
With the migration harmless ink system BoFood Organic, Epple offers the equipment for the inside printing of food packaging – including easy process handling and maximal legal security. The complete ink system including the compatible BoFood Organic varnish solely consists of food components and food additives. The ink systems should be aligned when printing on the outer- and inner side of packaging. Thus, a migration harmless ink system, or Epple’s migration harmless BoFood MU Next Generation can be used on the outside packaging in order to avoid cross-contamination. The demands of cost-oriented packaging printers with high volumes of ink orders who request low-migration, absorbing, swelling- and odor optimized secondary packaging, will be met by BoPack GAMA.
Commercial printing inks: bearing the environment in mind
Epple offers future-proof ink systems which meet future environmental guidelines. As an example, the allround ink system Stability presents itself even more powerful to the commercial printers. Having developed a new formula, Epple has further stabilized the production run of the ink system that is universally usable in commercial printing. Innovative renewable raw materials are used for Stability which results in an outstanding ink-water-balance and a very solid production run without any further regulation of the ink. Especially the easy handling and low maculation are attractive to short-runs and printing groups. With Stability Plus, Epple additionally provides an ink system for absolute premium demand.
UV LE and UV LED inks: adjusted to machine manufacturers
Epple UV-inks can be further processed directly. Fast delivery and short storage are the advantages that Epple consolidated in UV ink systems with low-energy transcend-ence. Epple developed the Atmosfair ink systems for the respective systems in sheet-fed offset presses of leading manufacturers. They are available for low-energy UV ap-plications on the printing systems of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen (LE), Koenig & Bauer (HR), Komori (H-UV) and manroland sheetfed (LEC-UV). Furthermore, the ink system UV LED Star was developed for energy saving LED systems. Due to a lower heat development it is particularly suitable for the printing of temperature-sensitive, absorbent and non-absorbent substrates.
Varnish: quality through permanent system matching
Dispersion-, oil-based-, UV-, and migration harmless varnish, as well as varnish certi-fied for food packaging ensure special effects, protection and easy processing. Disper-sion varnish of the improved Finishfit series, also available as low migration version, prove to be diversely in commercial and label printing: glossy or matt, protective, as primer or invisibly abrasion resistant.
